1. Overview & Single Purpose Commitment

TypeSmart ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy while using the TypeSmart Chrome Extension and web services. TypeSmart operates under a single, narrow purpose: to replace user-defined text shortcut triggers with saved text snippets, templates, and form values across browser input fields.

🔒 Zero Data Monetization: We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or transfer your personal data, typing contents, or shortcuts to third parties under any circumstances.

2. Data We Process & How It Is Used

To provide core text expansion and cloud synchronization services, TypeSmart processes minimal data as outlined below:

  • User Shortcuts & Snippets: Your saved triggers (e.g. ;email) and corresponding text responses are stored locally on your device via chrome.storage.local. If you are signed in, shortcuts are synchronized securely with your encrypted cloud workspace.
  • Real-Time Keystroke Trigger Matching: TypeSmart listens to active keystrokes inside browser text areas solely to detect when a saved shortcut keyword matches. Keystrokes are evaluated in real-time in local memory and are NEVER recorded, logged, saved to history, or transmitted over the network.
  • Authentication Information: If you register an account, your email address and credentials are processed via secure TLS connection to manage account access, subscription tier status, and cross-device sync.
  • Local Usage Statistics: Counters for daily expansions used and time saved are processed locally to render analytics inside your extension options dashboard.

3. Chrome Web Store Compliance & Data Protections

TypeSmart strictly complies with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the Limited Use requirements:

  • We only request Chrome permissions (storage, activeTab, scripting, tabs) necessary to fulfill our single text expansion purpose.
  • We do not use user data for determining creditworthiness, lending, advertising, or marketing profiling.
  • No remote executable code (JS/Wasm) is loaded externally; all application logic is bundled directly within the extension package.

4. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard your information:

  • All cloud network requests use HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption.
  • Database records for user profiles and cloud shortcuts are protected by strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies.
  • Local data remains isolated inside Chrome's secure sandboxed storage environment.

5. Your Rights & Data Control

You maintain full control over your data at all times:

  • View & Edit: You can view, modify, or delete any shortcut snippet at any time from the TypeSmart Options screen.
  • Export & Backup: Export your full template library to JSON format directly from the options manager.
  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated cloud data permanently from your account settings.
